DETAILS & DESCRIPTION
TAKE YOUR THAI BODYWORK TO THE TABLE!
Join Jenn Posterick, certified Thai Yoga Bodyworker, licensed massage therapist, yoga and massage teacher in her training on how to take the wonderful techniques of Thai Bodywork to the Massage table. This course is excellent for both Thai Bodywork therapists and LMTs, as we will cover a wide variety of topics based on the professional makeup of the student group.

In this course, you will learn how to take your Thai Bodywork to another level – onto the massage table! Thai Bodywork is typically offered on the floor on a padded futon. In this course, you will learn how to effectively and gracefully offer Thai Bodywork on a massage table. For LMTs, you will learn how to weave Thai bodywork skills into your sports and relaxation massages to take them up a level and reinvigorate your approach to how you treat your clients. Further, offering Thai Bodywork on the massage table can be an excellent way to manage your own physical well being, as it allows you to use your own body differently, whether you are a traditional Thai Bodyworker or an LMT.

Being skilled in offering Thai Bodywork on the table also allows you to work in spaces where a Thai floor futon might not fit, such as in shared offices where there is already a massage table in place, or in outcall situations where you are working in your client’s home. It is also an excellent way to offer Thai Bodywork and/or clothed hybrid bodywork at public events, such as athletic competitions or fundraisers.

Topics covered will include learning how to choose an effective table height, how to effortlessly move on and off the table, how to work on the table alongside your client, and ways to weave these methods in with the bodywork you already offer. You will learn a full treatment sequence that uses a variety of positions.

This course is excellent for both Thai Bodywork therapists and LMTs, as we will cover a wide variety of topics based on the professional makeup of the student group.

Jenn, the teacher for this course, has a long history of teaching Thai on the table, and also uses it on a regular basis in her work with clients. She’s excited to share her enthusiasm for it with you!

DETAILS & DESCRIPTION
LEARN THE ART OF TOK SEN, AUTHENTIC TOOLS TO USE IN THAI BODYWORK PRACTICE
Devanadi welcomes Jenn Posterick, certified Thai Yoga Bodyworker, massage therapist, yoga and massage teacher, in this unique and authentic tool-based set of techniques that comes directly from Thailand and its amazing Thai Yoga Bodywork modality.

Open to ALL massage therapists and Thai Yoga Bodyworkers!

Tok sen, or “tapping the sen,” is a method used in Thai bodywork. A wooden mallet is used to rap against various wooden wedges held against the tissue, which gently stimulate the parasympathetic nervous system and release tension as techniques are applied to the sen lines, acupressure points, and areas of tightness and congestion in the body.

Tok sen can be used as the central element of a bodywork session or combined with other massage and bodywork techniques such as passive stretching, tissue manipulation, and energy work. The deep vibration and rhythmic tapping of the tools improve the energetic, emotional, and physical wellbeing of the receiver.

In this class, Jenn will introduce you to the modality in its Thai medicine context, and also teach you how smoothly it integrates into whatever style of bodywork or massage you already offer; it is a key component in her sports and recovery massages in addition to Thai yoga bodywork sessions done on the mat.

Your materials fee covers your own set of tok sen tools to take home. The tools are handmade, wooden tools made with love and care sent directly to Jenn.
